We also offer laptops and tablets for your convienence.  Both can be checked out for two weeks and cannot be renewed.  Both devices must be returned to the front circulation desk.

How do I check out a hotspot?

The hotspots can be checked out at the Kaukauna Public Library only; they cannot be picked up or dropped off at other OWLS libraries. To see if one is available stop by the Library, call us at 920-766-6340, or check the online catalog (search “mobile hotspot”). Hotspots cannot be reserved online. Call to reserve one. 

Who can check out a hotspot? 

Kaukauna Public Library and OWLS member library cardholders in good standing can check out a hotspot. Find more information on getting a library card HERE.

How long can I keep it?

The hotspot is checked out for a period of one week and can be renewed up to three times. Renewals will not be permitted if there are existing holds for other patrons. If a patron has exhausted all renewals the item must be returned to Kaukauna Public Library before another hotspot can be loaned to them. Overdue hotspots will have Internet access disabled. There is a $110 replacement fee for mobile hotspot kits that are not returned.

Can I reserve a hotspot to check out for a particular date and time?

No. You can place holds on the hotspots by calling or visiting the Kaukauna Public Library, but we cannot guarantee their availability for a specific date or time.

How do I return it?

The hotspot must be returned to Kaukauna Public Library in person at the circulation desk. All items will be checked at the time of return. Hotspots are circulated with the device, battery, power charging cable, and carrying case.
